L’il PO’Tate and His Magic Dragon Potato Band at EEAC

November 20th, 2010

L’il PO’Tate and His Magic Dragon Potato Band played their first public performance “Spuds Unleashed” on November 16, 2010 at the East End Arts Council’s Composer’s Forum in Riverhead, NY.

The Magic Dragon Potato Band (aka Francisco and Gabriel Caban) provided heavy techno beats and samples backing up L’il PO’Tate (aka Jeffrey Allen Price) singing a set of original Potato Songs, including the anthem “Viva La Potato Revolution,” and the disco-potato classic “Funky Potato“.

Currently, The Magic Dragon Potato Band is in the studio recording a CD of Potato Tracks, due out Summer 2011.  A demo version of the first track, “Potato Circus” can be currently be heard here: http://soundcloud.com/flehmening/potato-circus

This event took place in conjunction with the THINK POTATO INSTITUTE installation by EEAC Artist-in-Residence, J.A.P. and was sponsored in part by the New York Foundation for the Arts.
