Potato Eaters Revisited (A Forum Art Lecture at Nassau Community College)

J.A.P. Reading from his text "The Dialectical Potato: Potato in Art, Art in Potato," during the Forum Lecture 'Potato Eaters Revisited'

J.A.P. Revealing his Potato Centrism Equation and how he developed his THINK POTATO concept

I have recently returned from a trip to Amsterdam where I re-visited The Potato Eaters painting at the Van Gogh Museum and was inspired to present a lecture re-examining this early masterpiece by Vincent Van Gogh. I discussed the influences, process and possible meaning behind The Potato Eaters, and also explained how originally seeing the painting for the first time was one of the inspirations for the formation of my own Potato Art Theory and Practice.

This was also the first time I unveiled my Potato-Centrism Equation to the world:

POTATOEATERS+SOCIAL SCULPTURE+YAM FESTIVALS/COMMUNITY+VEGETARIANISM=THINK POTATO.

This was the pilot lecture, Potato Art History Lesson I. This in turn is just one of the concepts within the broader organization, The THINK Potato Institute (Brainchild of J.A.P. Studio)
